I, Ben, challenge you, Sarah, Immanuel College, Immanuel Young Adults, and [your name here], to memorize the book of Philippians in NASB. We will be working on Philippians 1:1-11 this week. If you’re going to take the challenge let me know in the comments.

NASB! How can you forsake God’s Own Translation? Art Rorheim would be ashamed
In college, a friend of mine tricked me into promising to memorize the entire gospel of John. I think I got halfway through chapter 4 before giving up hope. It is a great way to study, though. I’m sure you will have lots of insights into what is going on in that epistle. Be sure to post them!
By the way, have you taken a look at the ESV? It does a good job, I think, of being both literal and good English. That’s probably the version I would choose if I were going to abandon God’s Own Translation.
